Frequently Asked Questions
My rate is $250 for 45 minutes and $325 for 60 minutes.
I typically start all clients with a 60 minute intake session to fully assess treatment needs. After that, we can decide together whether 45 or 60 minute sessions are appropriate. I usually recommend 60 minutes for each couples session, to allow for the multiple perspectives and significant skill practice involved. For other presenting concerns, I usually recommend 45-minute sessions, unless someone prefers longer.
I am not in-network with insurance, but I do provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. In you are counting on help from insurance, please check with your provider to inquire about your out-of-network benefits.
It really depends on the extent of the presenting concern(s). However, I will say that my focus is on helping clients learn and master skills (e.g., cognitive, behavioral, interpersonal) that they can eventually continue practicing on their own. While I usually recommend weekly sessions for the first few months, my goal is to meet less frequently (e.g., bi-weekly, monthly, etc.) as a person begins to incorporate these skills into daily life.
My office, for in-person treatment, is located in Cedarhurst, NY. I also conduct virtual sessions (with a HIPAA-compliant video service) as long as a client is physically present in NY. At this time, I cannot see clients located in other states.
My goal is to balance non-judgmental listening with teaching of new skills. I want therapy to be a safe place to feel understood, as well as an opportunity to learn practical suggestions to improve relationships, curb undesirable behaviors, and live a life in-line with values. My clients tell me that my warm, conversational style, and inclusion of humor, help them feel comfortable quickly.
